Aretusa was born from the lush landscape of Syracuse’s Fonte Aretusa, where palms and papyrus surround the water in a distinctly Mediterranean setting. Clean geometry, botanical embroidery and natural shades translate that sense of abundant vegetation into an elegant, balanced table.

Where nature takes over
The collection began with the atmosphere of Fonte Aretusa, where dense vegetation seems to reach towards those passing through it. Palms and papyrus originally inspired two complementary embroideries, both drawn with an essential line while preserving the richness of their natural forms. The palm motif is set against the clean geometry of the Octagon placemat. Its restrained silhouette creates space around the embroidery, allowing the leaves to expand across the linen and take centre stage. The character of Aretusa lies in this contrast: organic abundance held within a precise, understated form.

A palm across the table
Olive, Khaki, Green, Ivory and Artichoke recall the layered shades of Mediterranean foliage, from pale leaves to deeper greens. Together, they create a composition that feels natural and luminous, without distracting from the embroidered motif. At its centre, the Palm centrepiece takes the form of a large embroidered leaf. More than a decorative accent, it stretches lightly across the setting, adding movement and carrying the vegetation of Fonte Aretusa beyond each individual place.
