We are passionate about decorating rooms, from table textiles to bathroom textiles, from interior design to the creation of children's items and timeless games such as bingo and cards. Christmas is one of the moments we love to make precious by imagining collections that beautify the glittering backdrop of the holidays.
For years, under the guidance of Claudia Petruzzi Granato - founder and creative director of the brand - we have been bringing a singular and unmistakable touch into homes all over the world, with an eye always on international styles and trends, but preserving a good memory of Italian traditions.
We are convinced that what is chic should also be practical and that quality is a value to be preserved. What guarantees it is our entirely Italian production process. Every single piece is born in our workshop in Rome and is finished by hand by a team of seamstresses, so it keeps intact the flavor of the best artisan school. This is how we have recovered, with contemporary sensitivity, ancient traditions, particularly that of embroidery, which we also use to "sign" each item.
Our name, La Gallina Matta, is inspired by a travel discovery, a Sardinian sculpture depicting the "queen" of the threshing floor with her head turned downward. It is a singular image that has become part of our logo and continues to inspire us.

A secret is kept in the production process that allows us to last over time, a combination of Italian qualities - ingenuity, imagination, tradition - combined with a curiosity that is always vivid and turned to the present.
We choose, or have prepared exclusively for us, only those linens and fabrics that can make our collections unique.
One of our specialties is the use of the Coated linen, a material that is made by applying a water-based polymer and a layer of natural rubber to the linen in order to make it wear-resistant and impervious to stains. Our Coated linen can be cleaned with a single wipe with a sponge or washed in a washing machine at thirty degrees. In this way we can offer our customers an aesthetically impeccable fabric that is also practical for everyday life.

Between rolls of fabric, spools of thread of every color, pen or pencil sketches and next-generation machinery, a team of seamstresses is at work. All items are finished with scissors and needle in hand. This is how every hem, every border and every embroidery that embellishes our creations takes on graceful and natural forms.
In the workshop we exchange opinions on new pairings or patterns, but we are equally ready to listen to our customers' opinions.
What would creativity be without dialogue? From the tradition of craftsmanship we have inherited the desire to cultivate relationships with those who choose our creations. That is why we are always available to make custom collections and tailor-made items.
